Former Mars Volta Vocalist Forms New Group

3828559Cedric Bixler-Zavala, former vocalist of The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In, has announced he is working on a new musical project entitled Zavalaz. Bixler-Zavala has joined forces with three other musicians in creating the group, including former TMV bassist Juan Alderete. Recording for their debut album is supposedly complete, and the band will be touring the United States with Dot Hacker for the second half of June. Cedric is not the first member of The Mars Volta to expand into new territory; former TMV members Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Deantoni Parks formed a group entitled Bosnian Rainbows last year to largely negative reception. A link to the Zavalaz’s official website can be found below.
