Their motto: Indie ‘Til Death and We Mean It!
This week we at Melting Album Reviews are featuring Deep Elm Records. It’s not everyday a review site will go out of their way to highlight a label rather than a band or artist (yes, we do that too, but this goes without saying). This is the first of a number of features where we will highlight what a specific label will do, who they are and what bands are on the label. We have chosen Deep Elm to kick things off because of their support of MAR recently and their talent as a fiercely independent label.
About Deep Elm Records
2013 marks the celebration of eighteen years for Deep Elm Records, with almost 200 bands on the labels catalogue it’s easy to understand why this working force of a label is making head way on the independent scene. The label are recognized as one of the true remaining independent forces while other ‘so-called independent’ labels are being swallowed by bigger labels. Deep Elm is recognized as one of the industry’s premiere indie music licensing companies and has provided pre-cleared, cutting edge music to taste-makers worldwide from our catalog of 2,000+ original songs and instrumentals.
Deep Elm is responsible for seminal releases by The Appleseed Cast, Carly Comando, Moving Mountains, Latterman, Benton Falls, 500 Miles To Memphis, Nada Surf and most recently Lights & Motion, Accents, Athletics, Dorena, Moonlit Sailor, Our Lost Infantry, Last Lungs, Les Sages, This Drama, The Lions Rampant and many more.
